Understanding Disc Injuries
Your spinal discs act as shock absorbers between your vertebrae. They have a tough outer ring and a jelly-like center. When the spine loses its normal structural alignment—often from an auto accident, heavy lifting, or chronic poor posture—uneven pressure is placed on these discs.
Over time, this pressure causes the jelly-like center to push outward, creating a bulge. If the outer ring tears, the jelly leaks out—this is a herniation. This material is highly inflammatory and often presses directly onto the spinal nerves, causing severe lower back pain and sciatica.

Our Non-Surgical Treatment Approach
- Spinal Decompression TherapyThis is the gold standard for conservative disc treatment. By gently stretching the spine, we create a vacuum effect inside the disc, pulling the herniated material back in and allowing water and nutrients to re-enter and heal the disc.
- Structural Correction (CBP)If you heal the disc but don't fix the bad posture that caused it, the disc will just herniate again. We use specific traction and exercises to correct the underlying posture abnormalities.
- Core StabilizationOnce the disc is healing, we teach you specific exercises to build a "muscular corset" around your spine, protecting the discs from future injury.

Clinical Results: Taking Pressure Off the Nerves
Disc herniations are often caused by structural instability and abnormal shifts in the lower back, placing immense pressure on the discs and nerve roots. Below is a real patient X-ray showing the successful reduction of a lumbar shift using CBP structural rehabilitation, which alleviates the crushing force on the disc.
